Paul Galbraith’s solo career continued unabated during his four years spent touring with the Brazilian Guitar Quartet. His US tour at the beginning of 1999 preceded the release of a Haydn Sonatas album in his own arrangements. “Nothing less than enchanting – a rare item in the world of the classical guitar” enthused “The Guitar Review”.
Galbraith started of the year 2000 with an extensive tour throughout the US the Canada. In the summer he performed in Mexico, Germany and England, besides returning to the US for a further tour there in the fall. Also that same year, there appeared in the record stores his album of Bach Lute Suites, which was received with critical acclaim. “It sets a new precedent for expressive and intellectual achievement in Bach guitar performance”, proclaimed the “American Record Guide”.
The following year, Galbraith added a further original release to his discography: his own transcriptions of classically arranged Folk Music from Spain, Scotland, Greece, Hungary and Norway, which Delos released in an album entitled “In Every Lake the Moon Shines Full”. Further tours throughout the US and Europe (including his first appearance in Russia) followed this year, and are set to continue in the next.
